Kickstarter Promotion Campaign
Concept
The Kickstarter Promotion Campaign project was a motion design challenge:
take a poorly produced product video from a real Kickstarter campaign, and rebuild it into an engaging, professional-level promo.
The goal was to demonstrate how storytelling, editing, and motion principles can completely change how a product is perceived.
Rather than focusing on flashy visuals, I wanted to create a narrative that sells - communicating purpose, value, and energy through motion.
Process
The project was developed entirely in Adobe After Effects, with a focus on storytelling structure,
visual rhythm, and motion consistency.
Workflow:
- Analysis: reviewed the original Kickstarter video to identify weak points in pacing, clarity, and tone
- Script & Storyboard: restructured the product pitch around a clear emotional arc - problem, solution, impact
- Design Direction: established a modern color palette and clean typography that align with the product’s target audience
- Motion Design: animated transitions, text reveals, and UI mockups to emphasize features and benefits
- Editing & Sound: synced cuts to a dynamic soundtrack, ensuring pacing matched the product’s energy
- Narration: produced a professional, consistent voiceover using an AI narrator generated with ElevenLabs, giving the video a polished and cohesive tone

Outcome
The final piece transformed an unconvincing Kickstarter clip into a professional, story-driven campaign video.
Through precise timing, brand consistency, and clear messaging, the reworked version feels credible and emotionally engaging.
The project proves how motion and editing can make or break a brand’s story -
a reminder that good design isn’t just visual, it’s emotional and strategic.

Reflection
This project was a strong exercise in visual storytelling and creative direction.
It taught me to think like a marketing designer - balancing emotion, information, and pacing to keep viewers engaged.
I learned how to guide attention with animation cues and how to make motion feel like part of the brand’s personality.
It reinforced that motion design isn’t just about movement - it’s about making people feel something,
and that’s what turns an average product video into a compelling campaign.
